Security Engineer II

The purpose of the Security Engineer II position is to evaluate, implement, maintain, and monitor IT security measures across the organization. The individual in this role is responsible for reviewing and accessing security vulnerabilities across customer applications. Scope of Work: Three (3) to Four (4) years of directly related experience. Three (3) + years of advanced computer expertise. Three (3) + years of IT network security knowledge and implementation experience (e.g. firewalls, secure topologies/architectures, SIEM Tools, intrusion detection, Microsoft and UNIX OS security). Three (3) + years of experience with MS Office Professional tools suite, security incident/forensics, and system administration for Unix and/or Microsoft operating systems. Experience with system baseline configurations. Knowledge of IT security policy and standards development and POA&M tracking and remediation. Experience and/or familiarity with Websense configuration/maintenance, security information/event manager configuration, anti-malware tools, Check Point firewall, wireless network security testing, and Federal Security regulations, all desired. Other Duties: Handling confidential matters Traveling on an as needed basis Application of data analytics Qualification and Experience: Five (5) to Seven (7) years' of directly related experience. One (1) to Two (2) Operational and/or technical business leadership experience. Five (5)+ years' experience in IT network security implementation (i.e. firewalls, secure topologies/architectures, SIEM Tools, intrusion detection and analysis, Microsoft UNIX OS security, vulnerability assessments). Five (5)+ years of experience in working system administration of Unix, Microsoft operating systems, MS Office Professional tools suite, and IT security incident/forensics. Two (2) to Three (3) years' experience in system baseline configurations, IT security policy and standards development, and POA&M tracking and remediation. Education: Bachelor's degree and/or relevant technical training and certifications. CISSP, CISM, and/or CISA certification required. CCNP, MCSE, or equivalent is preferred Length of Experience: The minimum amount of total work-related experience required is four (4) years, for the position. This means experience in a related area or time spent performing similar work that provides the background for the current position.
