The
RN Cert First Assistant
reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization's Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards. Responsibilities: Demonstrates advanced technical skills to assist the surgeon. Will practice and collaboration with an under the direction of the surgeon during specific operative procedures that have been determined as appropriate by the department of surgery. Will collaborate with the surgeon and surgical team members and performing a safe operation with optimal outcomes for the patient. Will not concurrently function as a scrub nurse. The scope of practice will include: Handling and or cutting tissue Using instruments/medical devices Providing hemostasis Suturing Creates and maintains a sterile and safe environment. Collaborate with perioperative team during universal protocol. Assist preoperative team during pre-op prep phase. Assist preoperative team during post-op turnover phase. Act as a patient advocate. Maintains an ensure sterile field remains intact. Qualifications
Required: Current RN licensure in the State of Illinois CPR certification Minimum of 5 years perioperative nursing experience CRNFA Preferred: BSN Additional Information
