In Jackson, MS we are hard at working to provide much-needed upgrades to our water plants, wastewater plants, and other supporting infrastructure around the city. We're looking for a Water/Wastewater Engineer to join our team in Jackson, MS, to help us design and implement these solutions. In this role you will participate in a variety of tasks, including: Assist and lead in the preparation of plans and specifications, engineering reports, the engineers cost estimates, and quantity take-offs. Observe and document field and construction activities primarily related to your designs, ensure proper construction, and provide on-site troubleshooting based on field conditions Work to build a cooperative partnership between the client, operations staff, and all stakeholders to ensure the overall success of the projects. Work in multi-disciplinary teams to help coordinate clients, contractors, other engineering firms, and internal staff for the delivery of this critical program. Work alongside Project Management and Construction Management staff in planning, leading, and commissioning projects from design through construction. Assist Project Technologists and Subject Matter Experts in the analysis, implementation, and optimization of water and wastewater treatment technologies. Serve as Task Manager for various projects related to drinking water and wastewater infrastructure and compliance. so we can make big impacts on the world, together. Here's what you'll need: Bachelor's degree in environmental, chemical, or civil engineering or other Biology/chemistry-related field. At least 2+ years of experience in a water/wastewater-related field (drinking water, wastewater, and sewer; civil and utilities; etc.) Engineer Intern (EI license) or ability to obtain within 18 months. Progressive experience developing engineering technical reports and presentations, design drawings and specifications, and/or computer modeling. Ability to work independently and as part of a team to deliver and lead tasks. Willingness to drive design, gather data, and interact with plant operations staff. Attention to detail, quality delivery, and client service. Foundational experience with MS Office 365 (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) Ideally, you'll also have: Professional Engineering (PE) License or ability to obtain one in 6 months. Design and/or project management experience. Experience or working knowledge with Autodesk Civil 3D. Ability to collaborate and work effectively in a variety of teams, including multi-disciplinary teams. Ability to adapt to changing situations and moving targets. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
