We are seeking a Component Assembler, Navy Systems to join our federal team at our York, PA location. We're keeping the Navy cool. Our team at the York, PA custom designs, develops and manufactures complex chilled water HVAC and refrigeration equipment for Navy vessels around the world. This job consists of performing operations required to assemble, functional, leak test, trouble shoot and repair production and reciprocating compressors, service parts and assemblies. Clean, test, assemble tubes through separator plates, and roll form to seal on end plates, working with a variety of shell assemblies with complicated hole patterns. 3:00 pm) Pay: Bonus Eligible: Yes Union position: This is a bargaining unit (Union) position. Benefits: Eligible for benefits on first day of employment As a Component Assembler, Navy Systems, you will: Use precision measuring instruments, hydraulic torque wrench, test stand, water tank, band saw, test fixture, honer, hand, hand powered tools, appropriate material handling equipment. Somewhat repetitive work. Duties to clean, assemble tube roll to form seals, pressure repair leaks, pass through various sizes of tubes through separator plates and roll form seal. Some judgment required in carrying out instructions, following standard procedure to verify, make adjustments. Moderate physical effort working continuously with light weights or frequently with average weight materials in assembling tubes, roll forming, testing, moving materials. Continuous mental, visual attention required where work is to assemble, form seals, test, repair leaks, retest. Use tool preset machine, precision measuring instruments, hand and hand power tools, deburr tools and appropriate material handling equipment. Work from drawings, process sheets, specifications, tape program, instructions, or visual display units. Perform fixture change-overs, loading and unloading of production parts, on-line piece parts inspection and manual data input to insure specified finishes, tolerances. Maintain tooling and backup tooling (where necessary). Monitor control messages and take appropriate corrective action. Perform utility functions to maintain process. Will perform housekeeping and deburr internal to machining operations. Fills out PM check lists and may assist in the PM of the machine. Required Qualifications: Requires 1
2 years of industry experience Ability to read shop prints, mathematics, handbook formulas, precision measuring instrument, process sheets, program tapes. Judgment required to plan, perform, make general decisions within prescribed quality, tolerance, limitations. Ability to perform moderate physical effort working continuously with light weight or frequently with average weight materials.
