Responsibilities

About the role The primary purpose of this position is to answer incoming calls, receive/deliver mail, return coolers, review chain of custodies for accuracy, sample handling and login, scan data/documents, computer work, and assist the project management department. Full time: Monday - Friday Responsibilities: Answer multiple incoming lines and transfer to the appropriate person or take a message Greet and direct visitors to the appropriate person/department Mailing of laboratory documents including reports, invoices and quotes Typing, filing, faxing, copying and scanning of documents Process incoming and outgoing mail Returning coolers via Fed ex Reviewing chain of custodies (COCs) for accuracy Receive and inspect samples from clients and field personnel. Log samples into the LIMS system. Transport and store samples appropriately; dispose of expired samples. Ensure compliance with SOPs and QA standards. Assist project management department with administrative duties Minor accounting duties such as processing credit card payments, completing reports, mailing checks Assist reporting department Other duties as assigned About You Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Diligent work ethic and the ability to work independently and as a team Strong Customer/Client interaction skills Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-tasks Detail oriented, problem-solving skills and able to prioritize duties Strong English verbal and written communication skills Strong computer skills; A working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and other industry specific software Basic knowledge of EPA methodologies and Familiarity with chemical symbols and scientific terminology preferred Required Qualifications: High school education or equivalent Minimum 2 years' experience in an office environment Physical Demands: Able to speak and hear clearly while communicating with staff, management and clients Ability to work with chemicals, and wear Personal Protective Equipment (lab coat, glasses/goggles, glove, etc.) Dexterity in hands and fingers to operate computer Average vision and able to see to read reports Ability to sit, stand, bend, and lift for 100% of an 8+ hour day Ability to work overtime when needed Able to lift 50+ lbs.
