Job Opportunity With The City Of Durango
The City of Durango is offering a part-time position with a salary of $16.00 hourly. The job is located in Durango, CO, under the Parks & Recreation department, specifically in the Adult Soccer division (4565). The opening date was on March 7, 2023, and the closing date is continuous. Job duties include: Reporting to work at assigned time. Setting up all required and necessary equipment to start the program on time. Ensuring a safe playing/program area by inspecting the facility and equipment prior to competition, activity, or event. Ensuring all additional staff are on time and ready to complete assigned tasks. Coordinating with coaches, officials, and other staff to get games, activities, and events started and ended as scheduled. Acting as the main point of contact and source of information for parents, spectators, players, facility users, and officials. Distribution and collection of program surveys. Completing and submitting all incident/accident reports in a timely manner. Providing proper cleanup after all games, programs, and events have taken place. Filling out and submitting an accurate time card for hours worked. Monitoring the facilities and hallways around recreation facilities to ensure proper behavior from all user groups, participants, and visitors. Ensuring all participants, spectators, players, coaches, and captains conduct themselves properly and within the standards of the Durango Parks and Recreation philosophy. Documenting any behavior or acts deemed inappropriate, notifying the supervisor or police when necessary. Minimum qualifications include: Formal or informal education or training which ensures the ability to read and write at a level necessary for successful job performance. CPR/First Aide/AED certified or the ability to get certified. General knowledge of the sports to be overseen well as experience in working with the public. Knowledge of techniques for dealing with conflict resolution and disputes. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
