Site Technician

The Site Technician performs maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of wind turbine generators and balance-of-plant systems at a 30MW wind farm O&M site. This role supports daily operations to ensure turbine availability and optimal site performance. Job Responsibilities: Conduct scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on wind turbine equipment. Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic components. Assist with SCADA system monitoring and turbine resets. Follow lock-out/tag-out (LOTO), fall protection, and other safety procedures. Participate in routine inspections, reporting, and work order completion. Support inventory tracking, parts requests, and vendor coordination. Requirements: Experience and education: Technical certificate or associate degree in wind energy, electrical, or mechanical systems preferred. GWO BTT/BST preferred. 13 years of experience working with wind turbines or heavy industrial equipment. Comfortable working at heights and in variable weather conditions. Basic computer skills and SCADA system familiarity. Ability to work independently and as part of a small onsite team. Valid driver's license. Physical Requirements: Climbing: Ability to climb wind turbine towers up to 300 feet multiple times per day. Lifting: Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds unassisted and occasionally up to 75 pounds with assistance. Standing & Walking: Prolonged periods of standing, walking, and moving around uneven or sloped terrain. Reaching & Bending: Frequent bending, stooping, squatting, and reaching overhead and at shoulder level. Dexterity: Good hand-eye coordination, manual dexterity, and ability to use hand tools and electrical testing equipment. Balance & Agility: Ability to maintain balance and coordination while climbing ladders, working at heights, or in confined spaces. Weather Exposure: Ability to work in extreme temperatures and weather conditions, including wind, rain, snow, and heat. Protective Equipment: Willingness and ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE), including hard hats, gloves, fall protection harnesses, and respirators, as needed. Work Schedule Flexibility: Capable of working extended shifts, weekends, holidays, and being on-call in response to site needs or emergency maintenance.
