Financial Institutions Management Liability Underwriter

The purpose of this role is to support strategic direction for the Financial Institutions management liability portfolio in the Central region, ensuring growth and profitability. This role involves underwriting complex new and renewal business and offering specialist advice. Additionally, the role is responsible for building and maintaining broker relationships, applying technical expertise, contributing to business results, and staying informed about industry standards and new product introductions. Location: Chicago, IL Work Arrangement: This role is hybrid, where you will be expected to be in the office 2-3 days per week The starting salary for this role is between $158,500.00 and $237,500.00 Your New Role

Contribute to the achievement of operational objectives for the underwriting function and/or business unit. Perform underwriting activities in accordance with all legal and regulatory requirements to ensure obligations are met. Provide efficient and timely service to brokers and clients. Evaluate risk for new business in accordance with standards, to ensure profitable growth. Motivate and develop the team by demonstrating good leadership behaviors and management best practice. Initiate and maintain product and rating development by communicating with internal business partners. Collaborate with senior department leaders and key stakeholders to influence strategy development. Measure and optimize portfolio progress by reviewing and analyzing underwriting data. Build and maintain relationships with current and potential customers by providing quality customer service. Work Experience

Necessary Work Experience includes: Moderate relevant experience. Preferred Work Experience includes: Significant underwriting experience in the insurance industry, including operations, sales, underwriting, and claims. Established customer/broker relationships. Use of risk profiling, pricing tools, and loss models. Financial Institutions D&O/E&O underwriting experience. Level 2-3 underwriting authority. Compensation Package

The salary range for this role is provided above. This is the national range for location(s) listed. The salary offer will be decided based on the role's complexity, its location, and the candidate's professional background, including their education and experience. Beyond the base salary, regular full-time and part-time employees will also be eligible for QBE's annual discretionary bonus plan based on business and individual performance.
