Student Work Study Position
We are looking for enthusiastic students to join our team! If you have been approved for Federal Work Study funds for the 2025-2026 Academic Year and are interested in joining our team, please apply. This position starts August 26, 2025 and ends May 8, 2026. Reporting to the Vice Provost for Enrollment, the Office of Undergraduate Admission partners with the Office of Student Financial Services, the University Registrar, and AdviseVA, as a critical member of the University's Enrollment team. The team's mission is to care for students from their first interaction with the University through Final Exercises and beyond; to compete for great students from all walks of life who will make each other better; and to collaborate joyfully with colleagues to help these students make the most of their gifts and their time on Grounds. The Office of Undergraduate Admission, located in Peabody Hall, strives to recruit, support, and enroll exceptionally talented students from all backgrounds, in service of the University and the Commonwealth of Virginia. In this work, we process thousands of student inquiries and over 60,000 applications each year. For many visitors and prospective students, we are their first point of contact with UVA, so the impression we make is crucial. We are looking for enthusiastic candidates to assist with a variety of administrative tasks. Primary Responsibilities: Create an inviting atmosphere for visiting guests, callers, and office staff. Welcome University guests, answer prospective student questions, and assist with information session registration and tours. Provide professional, knowledgeable, and consistent customer service via phone, email, and in-person communications. Perform routine clerical office support, such as filing and processing application materials and mail. Stock materials in the main lobby and at the Front Desk. Other duties as assigned. To be considered, candidates must be willing to: Work 10-15 hours per week. Operate basic office machinery, such as phone, fax machine, computer, and copier. Lift boxes up to 25 pounds. Learn and share important facts about UVA and the undergraduate admission process. Follow oral and written instructions. Work and communicate effectively with others. Provide excellent customer service. Hourly pay rate: $13.50 If you are interested in working part time at our office on Grounds in Peabody Hall, please submit a resume and a copy of your fall course schedule for scheduling purposes. In this position, students will report to the Assistant Director of Administrative Services as their supervisor.
