The Commercial Operations Manager oversees the planning, execution, and performance of the Commercial Project Team. This role is accountable for driving operational efficiency, team productivity, and project profitability across all phases of commercial solar delivery. The manager leads cross-functional coordination, supervises and develops team members, and implements systems to track and improve performance metrics. Working closely with the Executive Team and other departments, the Commercial Operations Manager ensures scalable processes, accurate forecasting, and continuous improvement to meet company goals. Location

Our main office is located in Seattle, WA, but we are also considering applicants who live within commuting distance of our Oregon office, located at 19636 SW 90th Ct, Building 4, Tualatin, OR 97062. Responsibilities

Project Team Leadership & Performance Hire, mentor, and manage the Commercial Project Management team Ensure high performance through regular coaching and evaluation. Support Project Managers with risk mitigation, schedule alignment, and project challenges. Set and track performance KPIs for project managers and project teams. Monitor and analyze schedules to drive efficiency in pre-construction and installation phases. Forecasting & Departmental Coordination Collaborate with Sales, Estimating, and Field Operations to align project pipeline, labor capacity, and installation forecasting. Participate in weekly and monthly planning meetings to ensure alignment between forecasted work and operational capacity. Provide forecasting insights to inform hiring, subcontractor needs, and strategic project decisions. Serve as a primary liaison between Project Operations and departments such as Warehouse, Procurement, and Accounting. Process Optimization & Standardization Lead ongoing evaluation and refinement of operational workflows Focus on improvements Safety, Quality, Customer Experience, and Productivity. Document and standardize core processes to ensure consistent execution Foster a culture of accountability, operational excellence, and continuous improvement Contract Management & Financial Oversight Review project handovers and contracts to ensure clarity, risk awareness, and alignment with execution plans. Support project billing and progress payments to ensure accurate and timely invoicing. Review and approve change orders in collaboration with Project Managers to ensure scope, pricing, and documentation accuracy. Track project-level financial performance and identify opportunities to improve margins and efficiency. Quality Assurance & Best Practices Maintain high standards of quality by conducting regular reviews of field execution and office deliverables. Implement feedback loops and training to reinforce best practices across teams. Lead or support post-project reviews to capture lessons learned and apply improvements to future projects. Requirements

This position requires risk analysis, critical thinking, and the ability to provide solutions to the benefit of the company and project teams. Excellent verbal and written communication skills Excellent organizational and time management skills Operationally focused; and detailed oriented Excellent people skills, able to manage, motivate, and discipline if necessary Proficient with MS Excel, MS Word, Google Suite and Project Management tools Familiarity with CRM systems - Salesforce Must possess a strong work ethic and be able to lead by example The candidate will have a track record of proven leadership abilities Desire for company-wide efficiency, productivity, and harmony Previous solar or construction experience preferred Don't meet every single requirement?
