Adjunct Instructor Position

The Chemistry & Physics Department of the School of Sciences and Health Professions at Simmons University is seeking applicants for an adjunct instructor position in the Chemistry & Physics Department to teach PHYS 201-01: Wave Phenomena and Introductory Modern Physics (M/W/F | 12:00 PM - 12:50 PM) in-person on our Boston campus, to begin September 2, 2025 and end December 19, 2025. Responsibilities: The adjunct instructor will be responsible for lecturing and leading in class discussions on times indicated. Specific Duties Use syllabi provided by the Chemistry & Physics Department to teach the course(s) or laboratory section. Foster and encourage a culture of learning that values mutual responsibility, life-long learning, diversity, and ethics by creating and delivering engaging lesson plans during class sessions Communicate clearly with students outside of scheduled class time by responding to emails in a timely manner, through Simmons' learning management system, and/or hosting office hours or student meetings Maintain all administrative/academic components of the course section, including, but not limited to, grading of assignments Other course specific duties as discussed with Chairperson of the Chemistry & Physics Department or the Dean of the school Requirements: Master's or Ph.D. degree Preferred Qualifications: experience teaching Physics courses Additional Information Applications will be accepted continuously into the pool and will be drawn upon to fill vacancies as they become available.
