Psychiatric Care Position
Responsible for providing direct care to patients with psychiatric disorder; to ensure the safety and well-being of patients; to support the maintenance of therapeutic milieu. Does this position require Patient Care? Yes Essential Functions: Assist with care and treatment of psychiatric, drug and alcohol patients. Advocate for patients who may be vulnerable or need additional support. Parent/Family counseling, including Parent Management Training and Family Systems interventions. Adheres to guidelines for patients on special status (i.e. suicide, sexual abuse or AWOL precautions). Provides accurate information on shift-to-shift report and remains on the unit while incoming shift is in report. Thinks and acts quickly and efficiently in emergencies. Displays professional boundaries in relationships with patients at all times. Complete and file all documentation as required in a timely manner. Qualifications: Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent required. Can this role accept experience in lieu of a degree? No Licenses and Credentials: Basic Life Support [BLS Certification] - Data Conversion - Various Issuers preferred Nursing Assistant [LNA - New Hampshire] - New Hampshire Board of Nursing preferred Experience related experience: 0-1 year preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Ability to work well collaboratively and independently. Ability to operate within Electronic Health Records (EHR) system. Ability to manage multiple, competing priorities successfully. Basic computer skills. Ability to work effectively with patients, other members of the Health Care Team, facility personnel, and families/supportive others. Ability to give full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times. Successful completion of CPI training is required within 30 days of hire.
