Machining Engineer

We are seeking a hands-on Machining Engineer to join our Smyrna-based team. This role is ideal for a recent engineering graduate or a professional with up to 3 years of experience in CNC and manual machining. As part of a small and collaborative department, you will play a key role in programming, operating, assembling, and modifying mold parts used in advanced molding machinery. This is a full-time, on-site role supporting U.S. operations for a global leader in PET container manufacturing technology. Key Responsibilities: Programming & Machining Create programs for CNC high-speed mills and lathes using CAM software and G-code/M-code directly on the controller. Set up and operate CNC and manual machinery including lathes, mills, EDM, and surface grinders. Ensure precision by performing part measurements, verifications, and test runs to confirm specs. Mold Work & Assembly Assemble and disassemble molds for internal trials and customer modifications. Polish mold parts to meet strict company standards. Modify molds based on collaboration with molding techniques and mold design engineers. Maintenance & Documentation Conduct preventive maintenance and troubleshoot machines using manufacturer guidelines. Maintain logs for quality checks, production, and maintenance actions. Uphold safety protocols and clean/organize the shop environment daily. Participate in continuous improvement through technical reading and educational opportunities. Required Qualifications: Associate Degree in Engineering, Machining, or related technical field OR 13 years of hands-on mechanical experience. Strong skills in language, math (including trigonometry and geometry), reasoning, and mechanical troubleshooting. Proficiency with both manual and CNC machining processes. CNC lathes and high-speed machining centers (DMG Mori or GFT Micron preferred) Manual lathes, mills, and surface grinding G-code and M-code Mold assembly, polishing, and maintenance
