POSITION: ADJUNCT CHEMISTRY INSTRUCTOR - Different campus locations available; FALL SEMESTER - Begins August 11, 2025 REPORTS TO: GENERAL EDUCATION PROGRAM CHAIR SALARY: Targeted salary is paid in a lump sum based on contact hours Responsibilities
Adjunct faculty responsibilities are centered on preparing and teaching classes as assigned: Provides professional instruction based on approved course syllabus. Ensures that desired course outcomes meet the stated objectives; Prepares curriculum and syllabus for coursework taught; Evaluates students' progress in attaining goals and objectives; Administers and grades class examinations; Maintains records of student grades; Attends in-service training, workshops and seminars, as needed; Ensures safety and security requirements are met in the training and laboratory areas; Meets all required deadlines; Completes all required trainings; Meets with students, staff members, supervisors as needed. This position is available at all Lanier Tech locations where Chemistry is taught. Most classes will be in-person (face-to-face), and one class will be a combination of in-person and on-line (hybrid). NOTE: Adjunct faculty positions are temporary, part-time positions of employment that are appointed on a per-academic-term basis. Minimum Qualifications
A Master's degree from a regionally accredited college or university with 18 graduate semester hours in Chemistry. Competencies
Skill in developing lesson outlines and materials Knowledge of vocational area of assignment Skill in presenting subject matter Skill in administering tests to evaluate progress Skill in the use of computers and job-related software programs Skill in interpersonal relations and in dealing with adult learners Effective oral and written communication skills Knowledge of student information systems Preferred Qualifications
Previous teaching experience at the postsecondary level Experience with online teaching platforms
