Lead Controls Engineer
The Lead Controls Engineer will oversee and direct electrical system project efforts, including design, validation, and production. You will be responsible for power distribution, electrical wiring design, integration, and design considerations for optimum performance. This role involves managing and mentoring a team of Electrical and Controls Engineers, coordinating resources required to support all phases of projects from design through manufacturing, including installation, warranty, and post-warranty phases. The Lead Controls Engineer will also track and report project metrics and interface with suppliers and customers as needed. Responsibilities Include Equipment: Manage electrical upgrades and changes for equipment and facilities Manage electrical controls related outsourcing Perform and/or facilitate on-site start-up and training activities Recommend design improvements for Continuous Improvement activities Processes: Support design, development, and review of division processes Drive process changes and design improvements through active feedback from customers, assemblers, and field service personnel Participate in continuous improvement projects related to cost reduction, workflow, and manufacturing methods Project Management: Ensure compliance with customer specifications Develop project budgets Prepare customer approval submittals Create Electrical Bill Of Materials for Equipment projects Monitor and confirm completion of internal readiness checklists before FAT R&D: Work with R&D to develop new systems, prototypes, and processes Develop project budgets Customer Support: Participate in customer machine issue diagnosis and resolution Support and participate in on-site machine interventions and repairs Develop and deliver machine training to customers Develop equipment documentation Support warranty process and resolution with vendors Must Have: 5+ years of automation and controls experience in Engineering Experience with Allen Bradley PC-based systems and experience with custom machine start-ups and commissioning Nice to Have: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, preferably Electrical Engineering Siemens PLCs experience Project Management experience Pneumatic and hydraulic controls experience Experience with design and integration of robotic material handling programs (ABB, FANAC, MOTOMAN) Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $100,000.00 - $130,000.00/yr.
