This position is primarily responsible for providing design support to engineers for transportation and drainage projects. Job Responsibilities: Prepare plans, profiles and detail drawings using MicroStation and OpenRoads Develop construction documents showing topographical contours, elevations, profiles and cross-sections as well as develop draft design engineering drawings Understand and use established company standards for drafting, including layer names, line and character styles, and drawing and filenames for sheet layout Analyze sketches, notes and other input material to determine and plan the best approach to develop and complete drawings with minimal supervision Apply knowledge of roadway design requirements to continuously advance ability to provide support Communicate effectively with project manager(s) about progress on assigned projects Maintain organized work area to allow access to project information by other team members Be flexible working on multiple assignments with several teams simultaneously Qualifications: High school diploma or GED 2-years' experience in Civil Design Post-high school training in any form of Computer-Aided drafting and design Aptitude for and interest in computer technologies in the creation of roadways and other types of physical infrastructure Effective communication and interpersonal skills for interaction with colleagues Highly motivated self-starter with initiative to learn Ability to work independently within a team environment Must be able to operate a company vehicle Must be flexible to changes in work assignments on short notice Must be able to work 8 am to 5 pm Monday through Friday, with overtime as needed Occasional travel will be required EEO Statement: All qualified applicants for Pape-Dawson Engineers will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or status as a protected veteran.
