Network Administrator

The Network Administrator is responsible for the administration and support of the company's infrastructure, operations, and network security. The Admin will acquire, maintain and troubleshoot network and end user equipment, both hardware and software, as well as provide after hours and remote support when necessary. The Admin must be skilled in maintaining vendor relationships and creative problem solving. General Responsibilities Provides support for all aspects of IT, including system architecture, security, network support and information management Provides technical assistance and customer support for incoming queries and issues related to computer systems, software, and hardware Maintains and enforces CPM's written policies and procedures regarding IT operations Maintain a secure system architecture Qualifications Minimum 4 years in a Microsoft Active Directory environment. Minimum 4 years working in a Google Workspace and/or Microsoft 365 environment, with experience in both preferred. Experience with Microsoft Windows Server preferred. Experience with Linux OS and distributions is preferred. Experience with Cisco, Cisco Meraki and UniFi security appliances and switches preferred. In depth knowledge and understanding of networking technologies, design principles, and the practical application of routers, switches, virtualization, storage, storage networking virtualization/zoning, load balancers and network security. Ability to manage MacOS and Windows workstations. Experience with identity and authentication systems, such as Entra ID, ADFS, or SAML. Experience with MDM/RMM solutions. Knowledge of network security solutions such as firewalls, VPNs, Intrusion detection/prevention, and web application firewalls and endpoint security tools. Strong documentation skills and experience generating technical documents, diagrams, solutions specifications, guidelines, processes, and procedures. Experience with cloud and virtualized technologies, such as GCP, AWS, Azure, and VMware and with cloud SSO Identity provider (Okta, Onelogin). Excellent people and customer service skills Education Associates degree in computer science, information technology, or equivalent training and experience Compensation The expected pay range for this position is $76,500 to $90,000 per ANNUM. Chicago Public Media provides pay ranges representing its good faith estimate of what the organization reasonably expects to pay for a position. The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal equity, geographical location, and external market pay for comparable jobs.
