Clinical Educator | Organizational Development & Learning | Full-Time

The Clinical Educator provides educational expertise for areas of clinical and patient care services in all clinical settings, to attain Tamarack Health's mission and strategic goals. The Clinical Educator is responsible for developing, conducting, evaluating and improving in-service programs, orientation and continuing education for clinical disciplines in order to improve the quality of care, treatment and services delivered to all patients. Participates in performance and process improvement activities; serves on special committees as needed. Responsibilities/Duties: Supports the orientation process by developing, coordinating, facilitating, conducting and evaluating orientation programs for nursing and other healthcare personnel. Manages clinical professional development learning programs, including, but not limited to preceptor development program. Assists with competency management, which includes using tools that capture objective and subjective data regarding an individual's knowledge base and actual performance. Designs educational activities to address practice gaps for identified target audiences in consultation with Clinical Education Specialist. Utilizes best practice standards including adult learning principles in the planning, design, implementation, and evaluation of educational activities in order to facilitate the achievement of desired outcomes (for learners). Provides strategies to facilitate a continuous process of lifelong learning which may include role transition, role integration, skill acquisition, and mastery as learners advance from novice to expert in their professions and specialties. Collaborates with system and operational leadership to meet the education needs of Tamarack Health. Adjusts materials and teaching strategies appropriate to the situation and the learner's developmental level, learning needs, readiness, ability to learn, language preference, and culture. Implementation reflects awareness of scope of practice of different employees and disciplines. Uses assisted aids/technologies as needed to meet learner needs. Evaluates and analyzes the impact of programming on learners, organizational resources, and patient outcomes and makes adjustments in consultation with Clinical Education Specialist as needed. Establishes and implements appropriate evaluation tools and methodologies to identify needs or gaps in the knowledge, skills, and competencies of clinical personnel to advance the practice of specific clinical discipline. Develops and supports education needs based on specialty or department in collaboration with system team(s). Develops instructional materials; demonstrates patient care equipment; coordinates demonstrations of patient care equipment by vendors'/manufacturers' representatives. Instructs, coordinates and manages database for compliance of clinical certificates, including, but not limited to BLS, ACLS, in accordance with accreditation standards. Assists with the coordination of performance improvement and continuous quality improvement activities. Education/Experience: Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing. BSN preferred Current Wisconsin Registered Nurse license Current BLS certification Current ACLS certification within 6 months of hire date Obtain BLS and ACLS certified instructor credential within 12 months of hire date Learning Management System experience preferred 3 years previous hospital nursing experience preferred Simulation education experience preferred Effective interpersonal skills Strong attention to detail Professional Skills & Expectations: Must ensure confidentiality of all information and records and that of sensitive nature. Able to effectively communicate in English, both verbally and in writing. Establishes personal and professional credibility, gains respect and builds trust with leadership, peers, and staff. Competent in Microsoft Office and skills working with spreadsheets, data entry, power points, Internet/Intranet, etc. Ability to manage multiple priorities, effectively monitor performance objectives, work and make decisions under pressure and meet deadlines, goals and objectives as set forth. Creates an environment of open dialogue, inquiry and continuous development by asking for feedback and improving practice. Exhibits ability to deal with difficult situations demonstrating good judgement and tactfulness, while remaining professional and courteous. Travel as needed. Shift Time:

Commensurate with position and experience.
