Transformer Coating Technician

This position will use their skillset to apply paint coating to transformers and components and/or load and unload parts on the paint line while considering the values and goals of Power Partners. Responsibilities

Understand and carry out written/verbal instructions regarding coating of transformer components and/or loading and unloading of parts on the paint line. Ensure safe and proper lifting techniques and operation of lift equipment; operation of paint line equipment, and use of hand/power tools. Repeatedly lift/move material that is 50+ lbs. onto or off of the rail system, with or without assistance from lifting devices. Ensure conformity of painted components to standards. Sort and stack painted transformer components on racks/carts/pallets for assembly. Follow all safety policies and procedures. Qualifications

Communicate, understand, and follow written and verbal instructions; Use an iPad or other electronic communication device; Organizational skills and attention to detail is necessary; Add, subtract, multiply, and divide in thousandths; Demonstrate proper lifting techniques; Grasp, reach, and handle objects, tools, and materials; Use measuring devices such as paint mil readers; Use hand/power tools such as wrenches, screw drivers, tube cutters, sanders & grinders; Operate overhead hoists and lift assist equipment; Must be able to lift 50+ lbs. and push/pull 100+ lbs.; Frequent standing and walking is necessary; Occasional sitting, stooping, reaching, or kneeling; 20/40 vision is required with or without the use of corrective glasses and/or contact lens, as well as normal peripheral vision no less than 70, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus; Must comply with all plant safety policies and procedures and any special department safety rules; Must be able to wear all required PPE including, but not limited to: safety toed shoes, safety glasses, cut resistant gloves, and hearing protection.
