Job Summary

Coordinates the ongoing assessment, maintenance, alteration and improvement of District facilities in Facilities Management and Services or Food Services. Oversees segments of a large database which maintains up-to-date information on improvements made to District facilities in the assigned division. Conducts and supervises assessments, as well as updates and maintains a relational database which includes a complete inventory of the components of each facility and its condition. Maintains communication with District personnel and external organizations involved in various capital projects. Essential Functions

Supervises employees engaged in performing facilities assessments and cost estimates for proposed repairs; reviews estimates or required labor and quantity of materials to be utilized in the accomplishment of objectives; reviews factual reports detailing survey findings submitted by subordinates; verifies validity of work performed. Reviews plans and specifications for projects; interprets drawings and specifications of proposed renovation activities; ensures that modifications are performed and recorded in a timely manner; evaluates and makes ongoing assessments of projects in progress, including additional cost projections. Coordinates and oversees a large facilities related database with ongoing report development and file maintenance responsibilities; develops, manipulates, monitors and maintains test and production automated databases; maintains data collection vehicles and program report requests; assists in integrating data with other internal data systems. Keeps abreast of work in progress; prepares reports to keep administrative officials informed regarding completion stages and cost control measures utilized. Minimum Requirements

Bachelor's degree program from an accredited college or university in mechanical, electrical or structural engineering, construction management, architecture or a related field. Two years of full-time, paid, professional experience in building project assessments which have included the use of application software, including knowledge of computerized maintenance management systems. OR High school diploma or equivalent. Six years of full-time, paid experience in construction management or a related field, two of which have involved the use of a computerized maintenance system. All work experience related to the position must be included on the resume. Certificates/Licenses

Valid City of Philadelphia Master Plumber License. OR Valid City of Philadelphia Electrical License. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Demonstrated knowledge of: critical path, construction fast tracking and related management methods commonly used in construction and facilities contract management. the construction management and engineering trade. the principles, practices and methods using relational database technology. the methods, materials, practices and procedures used in the installation, maintenance and repair of electrical, plumbing, heating, ventilation, air conditioning and related mechanical systems. supervisory methods. Demonstrated ability to: evaluate and make ongoing assessment of projects. oversee and verify the validity of the work of employees engaged in performing costs estimates of projects. manage a relational database with reporting, updating and file maintenance responsibilities. establish and maintain effective working relationships.
