Plant T1 Rugs | 3rd Shift | Cut Table Clerk
This position will be responsible for setting up cut orders in the computer system according to customer order specifications. After cutting rugs to the appropriate size, scrap material will be handled according to current waste procedures. Quality checks will be performed prior to sending products to the air table for final processing. Essential Duties
Communicate with Laminating Operators to receive order information needed to setup cut orders Use cutting table computer system to setup cut orders Cut rugs according to customer specifications Remove cut out rugs from scrap material Follow current waste procedures for disposing of unused sections of carpet left behind during cutting process Check for quality issues with rugs before sending to the air table for further processing Communicate with Finishing Operators to successfully hand off order info Work on R&D projects as needed to support the department Cross-train in Finishing Operator and Laminating Operator positions Perform job duties inside and outside of the Rugs Department as needed to support plant operations Non-Essential Duties
General housekeeping duties Communication well with management to address departmental needs Maintain the integrity and security of an array of sensitive and technical tools Perform job duties in a safe manner Work night, weekends and holidays when required to meet customer orders Actively participate in various committees Education and Experience
High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) or equivalent Must have good interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills Must be able to work independently, without close supervisor Computer skills with current software experience Previous experience as Finishing Operator in Rugs Department preferred Work Shift: 8 Hr non-rotating shift, Hrs fall to out-punch day, Observed Calendar, shift starts PM Shaw Industries is an equal opportunity employer as to all protected groups, including protected veterans and individuals with disabilities.
