Project Controls Manager
Analyzing the cost, schedule, and other aspects of project proposals to identify engineering and construction issues and to highlight issues with cost, materials, or design elements. Reviewing fee proposals from architecture, engineering and construction firms according to company fee structures and specialized insights on long-term project analysis. Analyzing change orders, contractor proposals, and resource-loaded schedules to make informed recommendations for each project. Maintaining integrated key performance metrics (KPIs) to provide key insights and ongoing monitoring of project performance. Calculating and evaluating cost variances for corrective actions taken during project completion, including analyzing project scope changes and assuring the proper budget for additional funding and invoice requirements. Developing, updating, and customizing a schedule for work tracking and project monitoring which includes estimations for cost and completion time both for ongoing and upcoming work. Managing change orders, blueprints, and other technical documents for the purpose calculating, adjusting, and preparing estimates for procedures, policies, and draft directives regarding project compliance. Facilitating a variety of channels to ensure effective and efficient communication and collaboration between various parties involved in project execution. Advising senior management regarding project delays, cost effectiveness, and potential defaults due to engineering and construction issues. Reviewing general contractors' monthly payment applications. Managing project proposals in terms of developing the scope of work, issuing formal proposals, coordinating with consultants, and tracking related contractor's proposals. Reviewing project compliance checklists in accordance with proper certification, company standards, and local requirements. Requirements: - Bachelors degree in construction management, construction engineering, or a related field, and five years of experience in project controls, cost management, schedule management, or related fields. - Proficiency in project management software such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or similar. - Proficiency in Power BI. - Experience with change management processes and principles. - OSHA 10-hour or OSHA 30-hour certification. - Local travel to project sites in New York City metropolitan area.
