Schedule: Full Time Shift: Monday through Friday 0830 - 1700 Location: 601 East Rollins Street, Orlando, FL 32803 The community you'll be caring for: AdventHealth Orlando Located on a lush tropical campus, our flagship hospital, 1,368-bed AdventHealth Orlando We offer great benefits with immediate Health Insurance coverage Career growth and advancement potential Serves as the major tertiary facility for much of the Southeast, the Caribbean and South America AdventHealth Orlando houses one of the largest Emergency Departments and largest cardiac catheterization labs in the country We are already one of the busiest hospitals in the nation, providing service excellence to more than 32,000 inpatients and 125,000 outpatients each year The role you'll contribute: The Cardiovascular Assistant works under supervision of the Nurse or Invasive Technologist, assisting in performing specific duties and activities for patients of all age groups. This includes transportation, assisting with positioning, and patient preparation for procedures as required. Responsible for environmental needs in the department and acting as a runner. Adheres to the AdventHealth Corporate Compliance Plan and to all rules and regulations of all applicable local, state and federal agencies and accrediting bodies. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all. You Will Be Responsible For: Demonstrates, through behavior, AdventHealth's core values of Integrity, Compassion, Balance, Excellence, Stewardship and Teamwork. Utilizes associated competencies, on file in Cardiology, for the following responsibilities: Cleans between cases, monitor terminal cleans (performs, if necessary), cleans electronic equipment in room(s). Communicates with EVS on following issues: soiled utility room, mops, supplies, doctors' lounge and waiting room. Removes and replaces "black boxes" and "sharp boxes" as dated or used. Ensures safe transport, transfer and positioning of patients utilizing good body mechanics. Maintains patient privacy and dignity at all times. Adheres to policies related to patient identification and confidentiality. Participates in the preparation of the patient for procedures as directed by Nurse or Invasive Technologist. Cooperates as part of the multidisciplinary team by communicating pertinent patient information to the Nurse or Invasive Technologist and completing delegated duties as directed. Ensures appropriate disposition of supplies, labs and specimens. May remove medications from the pneumatic tube system for immediate delivery to the Nurse or Invasive Technologist or for securing purposes in the medication room. Completes duties within assigned timeframes. Qualifications What You Will Need: High School Diploma or GED Previous experience in an acute care hospital setting Patient Care Tech experience Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification Ability to communicate by reading, writing legibly, speaking and comprehending English effectively in order to carry out job requirements This facility is an equal opportunity employer and complies with federal, state and local anti-discrimination laws, regulations and ordinances.
