Research Trials Coordinator

Aviagen is seeking an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual to fill the position of Research Trials Coordinator reporting to the Product Director. This position will be located at Aviagen's Research and Development Center in Albertville, Alabama. The primary responsibility of this position will be to plan, analyze and report trial data and ensure onsite data capture procedures are adequate for trail integrity. General Information Location: Albertville, Alabama Relocation Expense Covered Employee Type: Exempt Minimum Experience Maximum Experience Required Degree: 2 yrs. or equivalent experience Travel: No Manage Others: 15% Responsibilities: The position will primarily focus on the planning, analysis and reporting of research trials at the Product Development Center. Other activities include, but are not limited to, special projects in the areas of nutrition, lighting, bird management, hatchery practice and processing. The following duties may vary according to the needs of the department, in order to actively participate in the development of new Aviagen products and technical advice, by: Designing and producing detailed trial protocol Validating trial data and disseminating interim reports with a fast turnaround Producing timely, accurate and concise research reports and trend evaluation for stakeholders Routinely reviewing protocols, procedures and data collection with the trials staff Conducting regular review meetings with trials management team and providing an overview of current research to them Maintaining regular involvement and overview of practices and procedures on site and providing training when necessary Providing presentations to internal and external customers, on an as needed basis Building and maintaining relationships with other researchers both internal and external, and staying current with the latest information from research institutes Requirements The ideal candidate will possess the following skill and attributes: A solid knowledge of statistics and experimental design A self-starter with the ability to work well in a multidisciplinary team A high degree of computer skills, particularly Excel, Word, PowerPoint Good organizational, communication and writing skills MS or PhD in Animal/Poultry Science or related discipline preferred Live production, hatchery and/or processing experience would be a plus Adaptable to diverse work environments including field settings We are an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
