Rocky Mountain Custom Landscapes has an opening for a full-time experienced Plant Healthcare (PHC) Technician to work in our Gypsum, CO location. Rocky Mountain Custom Landscape is a leading landscaping company serving the picturesque region of the Rocky Mountains. With a passion for transforming outdoor spaces, we specialize in designing, creating, and maintaining breathtaking landscapes that harmonize with the natural beauty of the mountainous terrain. Responsibilities:
Properly and safely apply previously prescribed treatments to turf and ornamental tree and shrubs Diagnose insects, diseases and cultural issues which effect plant health Perform applications on previously diagnosed problems individually and as a team when required Select, mix and apply fertilizers, herbicides, pesticides, insecticides and fungicides as directed by Supervisor Effectively communicate by addressing the customer's questions or concern, and update customer with the status of the work progress if requested Set up signage as necessary to notify clients and public of all applications Inspect turf, flower beds, and other areas of woody ornamentals for insect damage or presence, disease in plant material, improper soil nutrient content and other forms of turf damage Qualifications:
1 year work experience applying pesticides commercially or a minimum of 3 years relevant experience Knowledge of tree/insect biology and life cycles Knowledge of common tree diseases and problems Experience with cool season turf care Must be fluent in and be able to receive instructions in the English language. Bi-lingual in Spanish is helpful. Ability to safely drive a large, non-CDL truck Valid Colorado drivers license and clean motor vehicle record Job Requirements:
High school and/or college degree is preferred At least 1+ year(s) of landscape experience Field Technicians must be very skilled with their hands, plus they must know how to operate motorized machines and tools such as electric trimmers as well as a variety of lawnmowers Work quickly and efficiently requires a great deal of discipline and stamina as well as the ability to work well on a team Good attention to detail and constant alertness are necessary for safety reasons and to avoid careless mistakes The Perks:
