Job Title: IT Project Manager, NASA Support
Reports To: Senior Project Manager, FDF
Job Location: NASA Goddard Space Flight Center, Greenbelt, MD
Description:
Pearl River Technologies is looking for an experienced IT Project Manager to lead a team on the Flight Dynamics Support Services III contract. In this role, the IT Project Manager will be responsible for the administration of network and server infrastructure within the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center Flight Dynamics Facility (FDF). The FDF is a NASA Mission Essential Infrastructure facility that provides multi-mission navigation services for over 30 NASA missions including the ISS, Artemis missions, and James Webb Space Telescope.
Specific areas of support will include, but are not limited to:
Overall project management for the FDF IT team including technical, schedule, cost, quality and resource management
Enable space flight operations by ensuring system availability through proactive upgrade and maintenance Plan and forecast annual budgets, identify variances and develop mitigation plans Develop and maintain project schedules; ensure projects are on schedule
Develop technical staff through effective personnel management
Evaluate and regularly communicate staff performance, support career development Identify current or future skill gaps; establish plans to address them Hire additional staff, when needed
Work closely with supported customers including members of the NASA GSFC Navigation and Mission Design Branch and spacecraft project personnel
Ensure expectations are clearly captured, always met, and frequently exceeded Routinely confirm satisfaction with team performance and mitigate all issues
Collaborate and communicate with other managers and program management
Determine needs and allocate resources to ensure overall FDF success Identify opportunities for technical or business process improvement
Direct trade studies relevant to larger FDF goals, strategies, and user requirements Required Experience: At least 10 years of experience as an IT professional, with at least 4 years of management experience.
Required Degree: Bachelor's degree in computer science, or Information Technology, or similar. Related work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
Required Skills:
In-depth knowledge of system administration of Linux and Windows environments Ability to identify and implement strategic change though establishing a team vision Capability to lead people toward meeting identified vision and goals by establishing an environment that fosters team and personnel development, and facilitates cooperation and teamwork Be effective in a continuously evolving environment; managing multiple projects in a multi-customer environment with competing priorities Ability to communicate direction and concepts at multiple levels, from junior engineers to senior managers and NASA customers Creative thinking and effective problem solving through innovative solutions to complex technical/business problems Ability to make time-sensitive decisions and apply risk analysis concepts to provide engineering direction Excellent written and verbal communication skills
