Patient Access Triage Operator
The Patient Access Triage Operator supports timely, efficient, and successful patient call routing for all MAHEC clinics, ensuring an excellent patient experience. They assist patients in connecting with nurses or advanced practice providers for care or routing them to the appropriate area. This position involves direct interaction with patients. Specific responsibilities include: Answer the triage line to route patients appropriately. Prepare charts for same-day appointments by entering patient data into EHR systems, ensuring all relevant information is documented and accessible to healthcare providers. Collect necessary patient demographic information. Determine if a medical interpreter is required for patient visits. Participate in the orientation of new staff. Engage in process improvement for new and existing workflows. Float within Pre-Visit Planning functions as needed. This role description is a general description of the essential job functions. - Excellent skills in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and database applications required. Foreign Language
- Spanish speaking skills preferred. Physical demands are not applicable. Education and experience: Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent, two years of relevant experience in an ambulatory setting, or comparable combined education and/or experience. Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience in a medical office/clinical environment preferred. Medical assistant. Required licenses are not applicable. Schedule: Regular attendance on-site is an essential function of this position. Typical business hours are Monday
Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm (or flexed to best meet the needs of the clients and/or the Division); 40 hours per workweek; weekend, holiday, or evening coverage is occasionally required. Work hours will need to be flexible in order to respond to special work assignments, or evening activities, as requested by the team leader.
