Position Overview: We're hiring a Small Business Commercial Lines Account Manager to serve our Long Island client base. This role is focused on delivering personalized, consultative service: managing renewals, endorsements, and everyday client needs for small commercial accounts while supporting agency growth. Work Arrangement: This is a full-time position working in our office located in Smithtown, NY Professional Responsibilities: Client Management:
Serve as the primary contact for small commercial accounts, delivering responsive, client-centered service. Renewals & Endorsements:
Handle policy renewal, endorsement processing, and expiration tracking to ensure uninterrupted coverage. Coverage Accuracy:
Review account details and recommend adjustments to align with client needs and risk exposures. Carrier Coordination:
Collaborate with underwriters to submit applications, negotiate terms, and resolve coverage details. Documentation:
Maintain accurate account files and system entries in agency management platforms. Client Education:
Clearly explain policy features, industry regulations, and renewal options to clients. Cross-Sell Awareness:
Identify opportunities to recommend additional small business coverages (commercial auto, property, liability, etc.). Qualifications and Requirements: Licensing:
Active New York P&C Insurance License required. Experience:
2+ years in a commercial lines service or account management role; small business exposure preferred. Product Knowledge:
Understanding of small commercial coverages such as GL, Commercial Property, Inland Marine, Workers' Comp, and EPLI. Systems:
Proficiency with Applied Epic or similar platform, plus Microsoft Outlook and Excel. Communication:
Clear verbal and written skills with a consultative client approach. Organization:
Able to track multiple accounts and deadlines with precision. Client Service:
Strong interpersonal skills and client advocacy mindset.
