Reports To: LCS Deputy Program Manager - Production Supervises: Directly: Senior Project Coordinator Project Coordinator Subordinate: Scheduling / Planning Purchasing All manufacturing trades Contract management Authorities / Responsibilities: Principal (single point of) contact with the customer for all Post Delivery issues. Manage customer relationship Reporting to customer in terms of the contract Manage any Prime or Sub-contractor relationships that exists Vessel Repair Manage resources to ensure that the project is completed on-time, within budget, and high quality. Manage contract administration, specifications, drawings, and regulatory requirements as they apply to ship warranty and repair. Planning / Scheduling Key event Milestones Critical path analysis Progress payments Estimating Design and configuration management Manage design to ensure that deliverables are sufficient to support the project schedule. Manages all aspects of design, configuration management, document control, and production support. Contract change management / control Working level understanding of the contract performance reporting. Procurement of materials and equipment. Manage order placement, on-time delivery from suppliers, quality assurance from suppliers. Identify and resolve material and equipment issues. Classification and inspection authority relationship Product is built to specification and regulatory requirements. Test and evaluation programs Qualifications / Knowledge / Experience: 4 year degree relating to engineering technologies preferred 15 years of related experience and training with some of that time being in Post-Delivery Support Proven record of military marine program management A sound knowledge of the military marine construction industry A proven track record with experience in the marine industry in Life Cycle management and Government contracts Proven ability to set tasks for self and others Ability to listen to staff and customers and act appropriately Excellent communication skills Ability to read, analyze, and interpret contracts, contract specifications, and major equipment specifications. Tools: None Direction Exercised: Full discretionary authority to assign work Discretion Exercised: Full discretionary authority to correct and discipline, recommend pay increase, transfers, promotions, discharges, and process grievances. Liaises With: All levels of Austal organization. Supervisor of Shipbuilding (SupShip) representatives. Navy Program Office. Additional Guidelines: Familiarity with SHIPMAIN and CDMD-OA a plus Position will necessitate travel on a regular basis
