Business Analyst - Enterprise Data Projects Location: Alexandria, VA (Hybrid work options available) Clearance Required: Must be able to attain and maintain a Public TrustWe are seeking a Business Analyst to join our team supporting Enterprise Data Analytics initiatives for a federal agency. This role is ideal for someone with strong analytical skills, a keen attention to detail, and experience translating business needs into actionable technical solutions. Responsibilities:Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, data engineers, project managers, and business users, to gather, refine, and validate business and technical requirements.Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders to ensure clarity, alignment, and responsiveness throughout the project lifecycle.Manage and refine user stories and backlog items, ensuring they are clearly written, prioritized, and aligned with business goals.Act as a liaison between business and technical teams, translating requirements into functional specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria.Support large-scale feature development through discovery workshops, impact assessments, and change management.Create and present wireframes, mockups, and workflow diagrams to illustrate system behavior and support solution design.Write and execute SQL queries to analyze data, validate requirements, and support data-driven decision-making.Lead or support demos, user walkthroughs, and UAT sessions, gathering feedback and ensuring stakeholder satisfaction.Provide end-user support, including training, documentation, and troubleshooting.Maintain detailed and organized project artifacts such as business process documentation, traceability matrices, and change logs.Ensure adherence to data governance, compliance, and security standards applicable to federal data projects.•Required Qualifications:6+ years of experience as a Business Analyst on enterprise data or IT system development projects.Strong understanding of business analysis best practices, including requirements gathering, stakeholder management, and process documentation.Experience managing and prioritizing user stories, epics, and product backlogs using tools like JIRA, Confluence, or Azure DevOps.Proficiency in SQL for data analysis, validation, and reporting.Strong communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.Experience with wireframing tools (e.g., Balsamiq, Figma, Axure) and documentation methods. Preferred Qualifications:Experience working on federal government projects.Familiarity with cloud platforms, especially AWS.Exposure to data integration, reporting, or system modernization projects.Experience with Business Intelligence (BI) tools such as OBIEE, Tableau, IBM Cognos, or SAP BusinessObjects. Education/CertificationsBachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.Scrum Master certification or a CBAP is a plus.
