Staff Nurse
The Staff Nurse is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for the assessment, nursing diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care for patients and their families in compliance with the standards for care at AHMC Seton Medical Center and Nurse Practice Act. Responsibilities
Assesses all symptoms as indicated Informs M. D. of significant changes Document clearly and legibly on flow sheet Follows established clinical policies and procedures for practice including but not limited to medication administration, IV and blood therapy, Universal Body Substance Precautions Recognizes signs and symptoms of cardiac or respiratory distress or other impeding crisis; initiates emergency action, directs others and summons assistance Includes patient and family in plan of care Provides teaching to patient/family as need is identified and documents teaching Able to use Management Information System (where indicated) effectively Participates in QI activities Can perform clinical competencies for peritoneal dialysis Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS/JOB REQUIREMENTS: EDUCATION:
BSN preferred EXPERIENCE:
Must have 2 years acute hemodialysis experience and peritoneal dialysis CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE:
Current California RN license Must have CPR certification OTHER SKILLS, ABILITIES & KNOWLEDGE:
Excellent verbal & written communication skills Computer literate
