Physical Security Technologist is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining physical security systems and technologies to protect an organization's assets, personnel, and facilities. This role blends technical expertise with strategic planning to ensure robust security infrastructure. Principal Responsibilities Design and deploy physical security systems including CCTV, access control, intrusion detection, and perimeter protection. Integrate physical security systems with IT infrastructure and cybersecurity protocols. Oversee the configuration, deployment, and maintenance of security systems and infrastructure. Ensure interoperability between physical security systems and IT/cybersecurity platforms. Maintain detailed documentation of system configurations and policies. Coordinate with internal stakeholders (Facilities, HR, legal, Security) and external vendors or contractors. Oversee the deployment of physical security technologies (e.g., CCTV, biometric access, intrusion detection). Evaluate and implement emerging technologies such as AI-based surveillance, biometric access, and IoT security devices. Ensure interoperability with existing systems and infrastructure. Develop and manage project budgets, resource allocation, and procurement. Manage vendor relationships, contracts, and service level agreements (SLAs). Maintain documentation and audit trails for all security technology projects. Provide regular updates to senior leadership and stakeholders. Ensure alignment of security technology projects with organizational goals and compliance requirements. Conduct site assessments and vulnerability analyses to inform project priorities. Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement. Qualifications BA/BS in Information Technology or related field from an accredited university 10+ years of experience in physical security systems, with at least 5 years in IT leadership role Ability to work full time on site in our Santa Clara office. Deep knowledge of access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection, and integrated security platforms. Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles and how they intersect with physical security. Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills. Certifications such as PSP, CISSP are a plus. Strong knowledge of project management methodologies (e.g., PMP). Experience managing complex, multi-site security projects. Excellent leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills. Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences. High degree of competence with Microsoft Office Productivity Applications Ability to assess, validate and incorporate new tools, practices, strategies and processes to gain efficiencies in the areas of physical security Adaptable, innovative, and detail oriented Excellent analytical skills, the ability to manage multiple projects under strict timelines, as well as the ability to work well in a demanding, dynamic environment and meet overall objectives Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills Time Type: Full time Employee Type: Assignee / Regular Travel: Yes, 20% of the Time Relocation Eligible: No The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on multiple factors including location, hire grade, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and with consideration of internal equity of our current team members.
