Assistant Director/Residence Director

Siena University invites applications for the position of Assistant Director/Residence Director. We are currently searching for a 12-month Assistant Director/Residence Director position. The start date for this position will be late September 1, 2025. The successful candidate is expected to strengthen the opportunities for intellectual and personal growth for the Siena residential community. Some of the specific responsibilities for this live-in position include: Coordinate all selection, training, and supervision of paraprofessional staff and selection and training of professional staff of Residence Directors and Area Coordinator. Administration of a residential hall area as a residence director. Coordination of departmental assessment efforts. Working collaboratively on the campus wide programming committee. Serve in an administrative tier on-call duty rotation, and fill in for the RD on call rotation when needed. Adjudicating student conduct policy violations. Responsible for supporting overall operations of the Office of Community Living such as room switches, closing operations, award recognitions, and managing student concerns. Assist with summer housing placements. Selection, training and supervision of individual hall paraprofessional staff. Developing relationships with residents. Participating on division and campus-wide committees. Annual Salary: $50,050.00. Job Requirements: Master's degree. Previous experience in residence life, particularly as a Residence Director. Ability to work effectively with students of diverse backgrounds. Strong leadership and organizational skills. Ability to work well within teams, and navigate conflicts. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work a non-traditional work schedule in a team-oriented setting. Completion of a background check.
