Patient Access Specialist

The Telluride Regional Medical Center is seeking to hire a full-time Patient Access Specialist. This position is responsible for providing exceptional customer service and successfully navigating patient needs in a confidential, professional and efficient manner. The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent, possess exceptional interpersonal and relationship building skills, including conflict resolution, strong attention to detail, proficient computer skills to learn eCW program effectively. Bilingual [English/Spanish] is preferred. Must be able to work occasional Saturday's during high season. A competitive Pay and Benefits package is available and includes: Medical, Dental, Vision, PTO, 401(a) and 457 Retirement Plan options. Annual Wellness Benefit Stipend (for ski pass or other wellness activities). This position is an hourly/40 hours per week/non-exempt position. The pay range is $22-$25/hour. The Patient Access Specialist serves as a primary customer service representative and works cohesively with the TRMC team to provide the best experience possible for its patients. Responsibilities: Communicates with people within the scope of this position. Maintains patient confidentiality through HIPAA compliance. Manages phone calls, internal and external electronic messages according to the current guidelines for each department. Collects co-pays and other balances. Assists in maintaining good patient flow throughout the day. Assists patients with setting up and problem solving the patient portal. Maintains incoming medical records and routes appropriately. Works cohesively with team members and assists in all areas of responsibility and tasks. Attains complete registration for both the Primary Care and Emergency Department. Provides excellent customer service to each patient, staff and visitors. Addresses patient's questions or concerns and understands when to collaborate with team members. Communicates with patients in a courteous and professional manner. Consistently demonstrates positive interpersonal relationships with colleagues, TRMC personnel, and patients/families, to achieve maximum operational effectiveness and customer satisfaction. Orientation/Training

Attends all staff and team meetings when able. Participates in continuing education opportunities.
