Assistant Professor of Chemistry and Physics. Appointment at the Associate Professor level will be considered for the qualified candidate. Responsibilities
Teaching: Organic Chemistry 1 and 2 (lab and lecture), required; General Chemistry 1 and 2 (lab and lecture); advanced courses within the candidate's area of expertise. Advisement: Undergraduate student academic advisement Service: As required to further the Mission regarding the Department, University, and Community, including but not limited to textbook selection, course and lab design, committee work. Qualifications
Education/Experience
Doctor of Philosophy in Chemistry required. Doctor of Philosophy in Biochemistry required. Proven (peer-reviewed publication, presentations, etc.) track record of research involving undergraduate students is required. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Demonstrated ability to develop positive and cooperative relationships with students, faculty, and colleagues required. Familiarity in online learning platforms including Banner, Canvas, Blackboard, & Adobe Connect required Demonstrated proficiency in communication (written and verbal) required Familiarity with chemical laboratory safety issues Ability to design and implement novel teaching lab modalities Ability to set up and maintain a research program involving undergraduate students. Travel The position is located mainly at our Brooklyn campus. Occasional teaching at our other undergraduate campuses in the New York area is expected. Maximum Salary
