University Event Production Intern
The University Event Production Intern plays a vital role in assisting the University Event Manager and University Event Coordinator in the preparation and execution of various university events, particularly devotionals and commencements. This multifaceted position involves serving as a backup teleprompter operator, creating and formatting presentation slides, and ensuring that all event-related tasks are completed efficiently. This position contributes to the overall success of university events, ensuring a professional and well-coordinated experience for participants. This internship is available to recent graduates, who are authorized to work in the United States, with a maximum of one year to 18 months in duration. This internship allows interns to work up to 30 hours per week for three consecutive weeks, followed by no more than 19 hours in the fourth week. The purpose of this internship is to provide the incumbent with a well-rounded work experience in the assigned area. Primary Responsibilities
Event preparation including but not limited to content gathering, slide formatting, structure, design, layout, proofreading, and editing consistent with university branding and processes. Event execution including but not limited to serving as the back teleprompter operator during events, such as devotionals and commencements. Communication within the University Events team, and with participants and attendees. Training and development of new student assistants on event procedures and expectations. Support logistical tasks (e.g. room reservations, equipment set up, catering, etc.) Document and evaluate events for future improvements. Support data collection and reporting (event attendance, feedback, etc.) Other projects and duties assigned. Qualification
Experienced in Adobe Creative Cloud and Microsoft Office programs such as Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Teams. Strong organizational and time-management skills, and extremely detailed-oriented. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. Demonstrated leadership experience or willingness to take on a leadership role. Ability to work well under pressure and adapt to changing event needs. Commitment to upholding the values and mission of BYUHawaii. Familiarity with campus resources and event planning tools preferred. Respectful of the university's Honor Code and dress/grooming standards. Education
