Job Summary: Assists in the preparation and serving of meals; cleans kitchen equipment and washes dishes; sweeps, mops, and waxes floors. Essential Functions: This job description should not be interpreted as all inclusive. It is intended to identify the essential functions and requirements of this position. The incumbent may be requested to perform job-related responsibilities and tasks other than those stated in this job description. Service Work (95%): Assists in preparing meals, beverages and snacks; washes and chops fruits and vegetables; mixes beverages and arranges snacks. Assists in serving meals ensuring appropriate proportions are provided. Washes, dries, and stores pots, pans, plates, glasses, cups, bowls, and utensils. Cleans tables, chairs, and condiment holders Sweeps, mops, polishes, strips, and waxes kitchen and dining room floors. Cleans refrigerators, freezers, ice machines, coffee makers, stoves, and ovens. Stocks foods, beverages, and supplies in an orderly and safe manner. Empties trash cans. Assists in making special arrangements for special events and/or programs. Other Responsibilities (5%): Performs other related work as required. Physical Requirements: Ability to meet attendance requirements. Duties are usually performed by frequent walking and/or standing, kneeling, or squatting relieved by lesser periods of sitting. Limited amount of physical effort required associated with walking, standing, lifting and carrying light objects (less than 25 lbs). Working Conditions: Works is performed in a normal kitchen environment where there may be limited physical discomforts associated with working around hot stoves/ovens or cold freezers. Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications Required: Education and Experience: HS diploma or GED AND 1 year experience working in kitchen preferred, OR any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Certifications/Licenses: Food Handlers Permit
