Mendums Pond Supervisor

The Mendums Pond Supervisor is integral to the success and smooth operation of the Mendums Pond Outdoor Recreation Area. This position is responsible for facilitating staffing and daily operations, as well as overseeing facility and group rentals. The role requires working independently away from the Recreation Center while supervising summer staff. Strong communication with student staff, Special Events/Customer Experience (SECE) Intern, and the Outdoor Adventures (OA) Coordinator is essential. This position is considered essential staff and requires weekend availability during the summer. Duties/Responsibilities Facility and Program Oversight

(40%) Oversee the boat and stand-up paddleboard rental program. Utilize Fusion software (training provided) to manage membership and rental sales, transactions, and data collection. Supervise Mendums Pond Attendants in check-in, boat rental, and membership sales. Oversee trails, picnic areas, and site group reservation usage. Staff Supervision and Training

(30%) Supervise and support Mendums Pond Attendants during daily operations. Assist the OA Coordinator and SECE Intern with pre-season and ongoing staff training. Collaborate with other Campus Recreation student leadership positions to ensure smooth operations. Manage daily staff transportation from Hamel Recreation Center to Mendums Pond using Campus Recreation-provided vans (training provided). Safety and Risk Management

(20%) Respond to emergencies, customer concerns, and weather-related challenges. Ensure adherence to Campus Recreation risk management policies and procedures. Maintain a safe environment for all participants and staff. Administrative Support

(10%) Assist the SECE intern with summer scheduling and shift coverage. Support data collection, transaction records, and facility usage reports. Perform other duties as required. Minimum Qualifications Minimum Acceptable Education & Experience

: 1 year post-secondary education Drivers License Previous experience in recreation, outdoor leadership, or customer service. Required Licenses & Certifications

: CPR and First Aid Certification In-house trainings: Risk Management, Bloodborne Pathogens, Concussion, Defensive Driving, Narcan, and Credit Card Security All training provided by Campus Recreation. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

: Strong leadership and supervisory skills. Effective communication, problem solving, and decision-making abilities. Ability to work independently and manage a dynamic environment. Proficiency with or ability to learn Fusion software. Other Requirements

: Ability to work up to 20-25 hours per week. Weekend availability required (Mendums is open 12pm-6pm Friday-Sunday) Work Study eligible but not required. Must pass a criminal background check as required by NH State Law Preferred Qualifications: Experience managing outdoor recreation facilities or programs. Prior supervisory experience. Familiarity with outdoor equipment rental operations.
