RF Sensor Engineer

You will be an RF Sensor Engineer at Lockheed Martin, responsible for driving technical excellence, commonality, affordability, and producibility across multiple cross-functional and cross-program boundaries to develop novel RF Sensor Technologies. Our team is dedicated to delivering innovative solutions, and you will play a key role in collaborating with design engineers to develop and integrate antenna architectures, testing individual antenna elements and arrays, and calibrating antennas using Over-the-Air techniques. As an RF Sensor Engineer, you will be responsible for: Collaborating with design engineers to develop and integrate antenna architectures, including the selection of antenna elements, transmit/receive (T/R) modules, and beamforming networks Testing individual antenna elements as well as at the array level to ensure they meet specifications and are functioning correctly, including measurements of gain, phase, and impedance Calibrating the antenna using Over-the-Air techniques, which involve measuring the radiation patterns and gain of the array in a controlled environment Applying near-field calibration techniques, which involve measuring the electromagnetic fields near the array and using them to calculate the radiation patterns and gain Working with RF test and measurement equipment, such as signal generators, spectrum analyzers, and network analyzers Utilizing automated test equipment (ATE) software and programming languages, such as LabVIEW, TestStand, Python, or C++ We're looking for a highly skilled and experienced RF Sensor Engineer to join our team. If you have a Bachelor's or Master's degree in a STEM field, a strong understanding of RF and microwave principles, and experience with RF test and measurement equipment, we encourage you to apply. You should also have familiarity with automated test equipment (ATE) software and programming languages, knowledge of KA Band frequencies and their applications, and an understanding of RF sensor principles and architectures. Previous experience with antenna design, integration, test, and calibration is also required. This position is in Dallas. Discover more about our Dallas, Texas location. MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN - This position is located at a facility that requires special access. The selected candidate must have the ability to obtain a Secret Security Clearance. Basic Qualifications: Bachelors or Masters Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM) or equivalent professional experience Strong understanding of RF and microwave principles, including frequency conversion, amplification, and filtering. Experience with RF test and measurement equipment, such as signal generators, spectrum analyzers, and network analyzers. Knowledge of KA Band frequencies (26.5-40 GHz) and their applications (high frequency / HF) Understanding of RF sensor principles and architectures. Previous experience with antenna design, integration, test, and calibration Active DOD Secret or Top Secret Clearance required to start Desired Skills: Familiarity with industry-standard tools and software, such as electromagnetic simulation tools (e.g. HFSS, CST, WASP-Net) and CAD design tools Certification in antenna engineering or a related field Familiarity with automated test equipment (ATE) software and programming languages, such as LabVIEW, TestStand, Python, or C++ This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.
