The Sr. Manager, Smartphone Category Management will be responsible for cross-functional category management for all smartphone product lines within SEA. The position focuses on demand forecasting, promotional programs, pricing, smartphone portfolio data analysis, supply chain optimization, competitor tracking, and gap closure, along with the corresponding attainment of the assigned sales goals, profit goals, and the various brand and market share objectives. The Sr. Manager, Smartphone Category Management will report to the Sr. Director of Smartphone Product Management. Role & Responsibilities: Responsible for evaluating and reporting smartphone business goals: sales volume, revenue, profit, market share, price positioning, forecast accuracy, inventory, etc. Provide and maintain weekly comprehensive smartphone portfolio analytics, including sales volume, revenue, market share, device mix, cannibalization, demographics, sources of volume, etc. Ability to assess and create strategies that capitalize on market opportunities or gap closures to achieve business objectives Evaluate and forecast the impact of price changes, including profitability, sales volume, cannibalization, price protection, etc., and drive to implementation with sales channels and global counterparts Evaluate competitiveness in various retail channels and identify improvement opportunities Collaborate with channel sales teams to expand the range of key Samsung smartphone devices Review sales promotion proposals and forecast incremental sales, profitability, and rate of return on promotional spending Track the profitability of all Samsung smartphone devices across all sales channels and provide recommendations for improvement Forecast sales for smartphones across categories and sales channels. Collaborate with sales channels and SEA supply chain team on weekly demand loading to eliminate potential stock-outs and maximize inventory efficiencies Resolve channel inventory and manufacturing parts exposure issues through collaboration with channel sales and supply chain teams Strong relationship building, along with the ability to work across various internal groups Work in a multicultural environment, ability to communicate with our HQ partners Skills and Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, or related discipline and 8+ years of experience in progressive business strategy and product / category management 8+ years of experience managing high-performing teams in a fast-paced environment Solid knowledge of smartphone industry and products Keen understanding of smartphone category sales channels and market dynamics The ability to develop and maintain excellent working relationships with all appropriate levels within and outside the company Extensive data analysis skills with demonstrated visualization development Experience evaluating and developing promotional programs for consumer electronics Advanced knowledge and skills in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint Strong communication, both written and oral The ability to work either independently or in a team environment to achieve personal and team project goals, including the completion of assignments within and exceeding established time frames Preferred Qualifications: MBA degree and 6+ years of relevant experience is strongly preferred Regular full-time employees (salaried or hourly) have access to benefits including: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, 401(k), Employee Purchase Program, Tuition Assistance (after 6 months), Paid Time Off, Student Loan Program (after 6 months), Wellness Incentives, and many more.
