Operations Cantrell - Gainco, Gainesville, GA 30507, USA Description
Key Responsibilities: Sand Blasting: Operate sand blasting equipment safely and effectively to clean and prepare metal parts. Maintain proper pressure and material flow for consistent surface finishes. Inspect parts for proper cleaning and ensure no damage during the process. Press Brake Operation: Set up and operate press brakes to bend, form, and fabricate metal components. Read and interpret blueprints and work orders to determine required machine settings and tooling. Inspect parts for accuracy and adjust machines as needed. Welding: Perform TIG welding on stainless steel and other metals. Prepare and fit components, ensuring proper alignment and quality welds. Inspect and finish welds to meet quality standards, including grinding and polishing. Final Assembly: Assemble custom equipment using hand tools, power tools, and machinery. Read and interpret assembly drawings, schematics, and bills of materials. Verify that assembled equipment meets all specifications. General Responsibilities: Safely operate forklifts, overhead cranes, and other material handling equipment. Maintain an organized, clean, and safe work area. Follow all company safety procedures and wear appropriate PPE. Assist in cross-training and support other areas of production as required. Required Skills and Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent (technical school training a plus). Minimum 2 years of experience in a manufacturing, metal fabrication, or related industrial environment. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, work instructions, and technical drawings. Strong measurement skills, including reading a tape measure to 1/32" accuracy and using calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring tools. Experience operating press brakes, welding (TIG), and sand blasting equipment. Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and machinery. Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills. Ability to work independently and in a team environment with minimal supervision. Willingness to cross-train and adapt to changing production needs. Physical Requirements: Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 40 lbs for extended periods. Comfortable working in a production environment with varying temperatures and noise levels. Manual dexterity and good hand-eye coordination for precision tasks. Preferred Qualifications: Prior experience in custom equipment assembly and stainless-steel fabrication. Welding certifications (AWS or equivalent) a plus. Forklift certification a plus. Work Environment: This position is based in a manufacturing shop environment. Employees are required to follow all safety protocols, including wearing PPE such as safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, and steel-toe boots.
