Kennel Assistant Position
Animal Clinic of Milford, part of the Suveto network of hospitals, is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our dedicated team in a fast-paced work environment in the role of Kennel Assistant. This is an amazing opportunity to work in a brand new state-of-the-art veterinary hospital in Milford, CT. We provide veterinary wellness care, grooming, boarding, and day care. Kennel Assistants provide daily care for our Pet Hotel sector of Animal Clinic of Milford and assist with kennel maintenance. Their main objective is to properly board our dogs, cats, and exotic animals. Additionally, this means interacting with our clients as they pick up and drop off their pets and keeping them updated on their pet's activity throughout the day. Candidates must be organized, able to communicate clearly with staff and owners, work independently and have a passion for dogs of all sizes and personalities. Candidates must be knowledgeable about dog behavior and body language and able to redirect dogs that are exhibiting inappropriate behavior in a safe manner. This is a Full-time Position, $16.35
17.50 per hour. Essential Job Functions: MONITORING all boarders indoors and in the play yard. Working with a large group of dogs Constantly walking and interacting with dogs MAINTAINING A SAFE ENVIRONMENT! Provide excellent customer service. Keeping the facility clean and maintained Record keeping, checking in and out dogs. Kennel Assistants must be active and attentive at all times. Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent. At least one year's experience working in a dog daycare facility is preferred. Must be friendly, organized and customer service driven. Must have the ability to work in an extremely fast-paced work environment. Be able to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted. Must have a passion for animal welfare. Available to work during evenings, and on weekends and public holidays, if required.
