Mid-Level Network Administrator
ValidaTek is seeking a mission-driven and technically proficient Mid-Level Network Administrator to support our Cybersecurity Systems Support (CSS) contract with the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA). This position is responsible for assisting with the administration, security, and troubleshooting of network infrastructure in a secure DoD environment. The role requires a strong foundation in network operations, hands-on configuration experience, and a desire to grow in a fast-paced, collaborative setting. This is a 100% on-site position in Pensacola, FL. Responsibilities
Support the day-to-day administration of LAN/WAN networks, including the configuration, operation, and maintenance of routers, switches, and firewalls. Monitor network health, identify issues, and troubleshoot connectivity problems. Assist with implementing and maintaining network security protocols in compliance with DoD cybersecurity policies. Conduct routine network vulnerability scans and remediation efforts using tools such as ACAS. Apply Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) and support IA Vulnerability Management (IAVM) compliance. Maintain and update network documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and inventories. Support incident response activities by providing network data and analysis. Collaborate with senior network administrators, cybersecurity staff, and system administrators to support network-related tasks tied to Risk Management Framework (RMF) requirements. Participate in the implementation of network changes through formal change management processes. Qualifications
Active Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance. Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a technical field OR equivalent professional experience. DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (e.g., Security+ CE)
required. 3+ years of experience in network administration within a DoD or enterprise IT environment. Basic to intermediate understanding of network protocols, IP addressing, subnetting, and routing concepts. Hands-on experience with Cisco, Juniper, or equivalent network hardware. Familiarity with STIGs, RMF security controls, and eMASS is a plus. Working knowledge of network troubleshooting tools (e.g., ping, traceroute, Wireshark). Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a structured, security-focused environment. Strong documentation and communication skills. Preferred Qualifications: Cisco CCNA or other vendor certifications. Experience with DoD environments, DISA networks, or classified systems. Familiarity with ITIL processes and change/configuration management. Exposure to network segmentation, firewall rules, and VPN setup. Salary Disclosure
Actual salary will be based on a variety of factors including but not limited to experience, geographic location, contract affordability, internal equity, education, and certifications. The upper end of the salary range may be reserved for individuals who have demonstrated tenure with the company, seniority, and proven excellent performance.
