You can make a positive impact in the community on day 1! Major Responsibility Serve as a client advocate providing client information and peer support. Responsibilities Assist clients in identifying personal goals for recovery Assist clients in working with the treatment team in determining the steps to take in order to achieve their goals Utilize and teach problem solving skills Share personal experience to communicate what skills, strength, and supports and resources they use. Teach and role model the value of every client's recovery experience Model effective coping techniques and self-help strategies Educate clients about community and natural supports and how to use these in the recovery process Assist clients in developing empowerment skills and combating stigma through self-advocacy Participate in the collaborative treatment planning process Participate in weekly team meetings Receive weekly supervision by the Clinical Director Complete staff development activities Knowledge Knowledge of the recovery process and the ability to facilitate recovery using established mental health processes. Knowledge of signs and symptoms of mental illness and the ability to assist the client to address symptoms. Skills Good written and verbal communication skills. Be comfortable working with others as a part of a team. Ability to work with individuals between 16 and 34 years of age. Some computer skills necessary. Expected to handle routine duties independently and establish common priorities for their assignments.
