Botany technician to assist with running nursery facility, including watering, fertilization, repotting, moving plants. May require lifting and working outside normal business hours. Provide ArcGIS assistance for mapping and developing story maps for research project communication and outreach. Assist with other research priorities in consultation with grant PI and graduate student(s). Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Water Plants in nursery Plant maintenance and husbandry Plant delivery co-ordination GIS support ArcGIS story map assistance Lab duties and tasks Other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in a related field (biology, geography, ecology, botany). Experience in plant husbandry and greenhouse operations, GIS experience and developing story maps, or similar skills a related professional field. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Communication and interpersonal skills. Problem-solving and analytical skills, as well as critical thinking ability. Organization skills and attention to detail. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Ability to meet deadlines. Ability to lead and motivate others to achieve objectives. Ability to effectively plan work activities, schedules, priorities and utilization of resources. Ability to create new and innovative solutions. Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in a related field (biology, geography, ecology, botany). Experience in plant husbandry and greenhouse operations, GIS experience and developing story maps, or similar skills a related professional field. Knowledge of ArcGIS, story map development, or related. Prior experience in botany nursery or similar facility in a higher education environment.
