Shipping Receiving Clerk I - On the Job Training (OJT)

Peraton is seeking skilled and qualified candidates for their Shipping Receiving Clerk I - On the Job Training (OJT) position. The Shipping and Receiving Clerk I OJT works at the United States Postal Service (USPS) Central Repair Facility (CRF) in Topeka, KS. The CRF is a depot repair facility for USPS mail processing, delivery, and bulk mail systems repairable parts. The CRF provides depot level maintenance for essential automation, mechanization, retail and bulk mail processing systems used in all mail processing and retail installations. Our Shipping Receiving Clerk OJT performs a variety of non-complex assembly and disassembly tasks to perform functional tests for quality of product according to specifications. Specific tasks include: Performs interchangeably as receiving clerk and shipping clerk Unpacks, identifies, and prepares necessary receiving documents required for work control of end items as established in work instructions Unloads and distributes piece parts and supplies to appropriate areas Follows instructions for packing, marking, and shipping as required to meet timely shipping performance Coordinates necessary shipping paperwork as required in the established work instructions May be required to operate a motor vehicle in the movement of goods Extensive interactions with internal and external customers Performs other related tasks as assigned Qualifications: Basic Qualifications: High School graduate or equivalent U.S. Citizenship Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance Required skills will be obtained through a 90-day On the Job Training (OJT) program Upon successful completion, individual shall be deemed fully qualified as having met the labor category requirements for a Shipping and Receiving Clerk I Ability to obtain and maintain forklift license Ability to use small hand tools and operate machines Ability to work with computers Ability to stand on feet for long durations Preferred Qualifications: Experience with banding, Insta-pack, pad pack, and similar equipment Experience with storage and handling of ESD sensitive items Physical Requirements: Heavy work, exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects Physical activity may include forklift, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, talking, and repetitive motion Required to have visual acuity to operate motor vehicles and/or heavy equipment Subject to hazards; includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current Target Salary Range: SCA / Union / Intern EEO: Equal opportunity employer, including disability and protected veterans, or other characteristics protected by law.
