Renewable Energy Interconnection Engineer
SolRiver Capital is seeking a Renewable Energy Interconnection Engineer. This position is for someone with experience successfully working through the utility interconnection process for in-front of the meter projects connecting to distribution and/or transmission lines. SolRiver Capital is a growing renewable energy investment fund focused on distributed generation and utility scale projects. Founded in 2016 by solar and storage finance experts, SolRiver utilizes an innovative yet disciplined investment approach to fund clean energy across the country. A key to our success is a small, talented, hardworking team. Our ethos is an entrepreneurial culture of ownership, problem-solving, and continuous improvement. Responsibilities: Draft and submit pre-apps, screening studies, and full applications for selected sites and points of interconnection. Create single-line diagrams, engineering drawings, and other engineering deliverables required by the utility for the interconnection process. Collect, understand, and summarize detailed technical information regarding project size, expected output, electrical specifications, proposed major equipment (modules, inverter, and transformer), and other relevant areas. Confirm that the proposed technical parameters of projects are compatible with local line voltages, protection requirements, interconnecting utility standards, and industry best-practices. Evaluate and summarize pre-app and interconnection study results for feasibility, reasonableness, cost, and timeline. Collaborate and work with broader development teams to ensure project success. This includes sharing clear recommendations on interconnection strategies and takeaways on utility study results with senior executives.
