Responsibilities/Duties: Responsible for the safe transportation of patients within Radiology services and other assigned areas with consideration to age and developmental abilities. Primary focus will be on ED patients, ensuring timely prep, transport, and scan time Schedules appointments called in to the department by patients, physicians, and physicians' offices, per policy and procedure. Answers the telephone politely and accurately communicates information to the appropriate staff. Enters and verifies data in the computer system. Responsible for cleaning, disinfecting, and restocking various assigned perioperative areas and equipment. Assesses and maintains supplies/equipment accurately and efficiently during the turnover process. Effectively uses verbal communication to assist staff/physicians in the care of the patient and standard department workflows. Uses appropriate infection prevention practices to turn over and clean perioperative areas. Orders supplies as needed. Maintains supplies in a neat and orderly environment. Interacts professionally with patient/family and defers to Radiology staff to provide explanations and verbal reassurance as appropriate. Performs all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors. Maintains a good working relationship within the Radiology department and with other departments. Demonstrates the ability to be flexible & organized while being able to appropriately function under stressful situations. Manages and operates equipment safely and correctly and uses proper body mechanics. Responds promptly to changes in workload, adjusting assignments as necessary to achieve optimal productivity, efficiency, and fiscal responsibility. Performs other duties as assigned.
