Pest Control Trainer
Duties & Responsibilities: Follow established rules and regulations; maintain a safe, clean working environment. Daily supervision & mentorship of Meskwaki Apprenticeship Program participants in the evaluation/identity of pest infestations; methods of treatment and preventative measures. Organize, file and maintain daily records Assist in the coordination and completion of residential/commercial service calls. Assist in the planning & coordination of on the job and learning lab activities Assist in the assessment/evaluation of Meskwaki Apprenticeship Program participants Assist in the development & execution of on the job learning in accordance to the Meskwaki Apprenticeship Program curriculum Assist with ordering & maintenance of material, tools, and safety equipment. Assist with the implementation, delivery, and execution of the Exterminator course curriculum. Assist with the evaluation and grading of apprenticeship program participants. Assist in the creation of project plans; materials, quotes, budgets, timelines Effectively integrate technology and sustainable pest control practices into the apprenticeship learning environment. Proper deployment of chemical solutions, powders, gasses, traps, baits. Insure adherence to US Department of Labor Apprenticeship Standards. Attend required meetings/trainings as assigned Perform other duties as assigned Requirements: Must hold an Iowa Commercial Pesticide Applicator License and Certification. Category 7A - General Household Pest Management Category 7B - Termite Control Category 7C - Fumigation Category 7D - Community Insect Management Category 7E - Wood Preservatives Category 8 - Public Health Pest Control Minimum of 3 years as a practicing licensed exterminator Minimum of 2 years on the job supervisory experience. Basic to intermediate knowledge and proficiency with office and contractor computer programs. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Hold a current or willing to obtain CPR/First Aid Certification Must possess a valid driver's license and be insurable Must be able to pass a background check and pre-employment drug screen Supervision: Direct supervision by the Lead Pest Control Instructor/Apprenticeship Director
