Data Center Systems Administrator
Peraton is seeking a talented Data Center Systems Administrator to become part of our team. The ideal candidate will become part of Peraton's United States Coast Guard (USCG) Infrastructure Managed Services (IMS) program in the Citizen Security & Public Services Sector and Homeland & Diplomacy business unit. The USCG IMS program delivers a phased journey to mature the delivery of the USCG's managed IT services. The program is focused on strengthening IT infrastructure, modernizing enterprise solutions, and improving service delivery to enable successful execution of USCG missions and mission support activities. Day to Day Work Responsibilities: Communicates and collaborates effectively with diverse stakeholders including clients, vendors, management, and IT personnel throughout system creation and maintenance. Installs, configures, and tests servers, blade chassis, blade servers, networking appliances, and associated cabling. Manages and monitors all installed systems and infrastructure to ensure compliance with company guidelines or SOPs. Provides requested information, feedback, and evaluation to support development design and implementation within the Enterprise Data Center environment. Understands, monitors, reports on, and gathers data from critical support infrastructure within the Enterprise Data Center. Implements advanced quality control measures to optimize system efficiency and operation. Conducts cost-benefit analysis to support decision-making processes. Ensures the highest level of system and infrastructure availability. Identifies and resolves complex technical issues as they arise. Executes warranty and support activities as required. Collaborates with other professionals to deliver high-quality outcomes. Optimizes work processes and physical connectivity to enhance project success. Participates in on-call duties to provide onsite support for the Enterprise Data Center. Qualifications: Bachelors degree and 5 years experience or a Master's degree and 3 years experience or a High School Diploma/equivalent and 9 years experience Must be a U.S. Citizen and have a current Secret Clearance. Must have CompTIA Security+ Certification. Experience in creating, installing, configuring, and troubleshooting networking cabling. Fundamental understanding of networking principles (OSI layers, TCP/IP). Proficiency in installing, configuring, and troubleshooting Windows and/or Linux environments. Basic knowledge of Virtual Infrastructure, including familiarity with VMware or VirtualBox. Experience with monitoring systems to ensure performance and reliability. Basic scripting skills, such as PowerShell, scripting, or command line usage. Strong logic and reasoning skills for effective troubleshooting. Proficient in handling physical tasks, including the ability to lift and maneuver objects weighing up to 70lbs with ease and safety. Target Salary Range: $80,000 - $128,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
